The Adlon lies in the south of Mitte at the meeting point between East and West Berlin. The hotel is a pefect base for exploring Berlin's cultural heritage, as government buildings, theatres, the opera house and many major museums are all based here. There are several lovely restaurants and bars near the hotel and some great shopping along Friedrichstrasse.

Once an area of squats and anarchic activity, gentrification has since taken root  and it is now a thriving media district, housing an eclectic and energetic design and fashion scene and some great restaurants, bars, boutiques and cafes.
