Review
This elegant and truly exceptional hotel is a tranquil idyll with a city centre postal code. Combining classical elements with modern design, the turn of the century mansion has a timeless appeal. Many of the contemporary Bauhaus furnishings have actually been exhibited in New York's MOMA. Natural oak finishes and simple colour schemes bring instant relaxation and rooms smell wonderfully fresh. The conservatory Wintergarten provides a serene start to the day, while gourmet meals can be enjoyed in the fine dining Quadriga restaurant. Old school devotees will undoubtedly be drawn to the library and wine cellar – where a resident sommelier offers wine-tastings. The Thaleia beauty suite is small, but they offer a great range of Thalgo, Ligne St Barth and Dr Sebagh treatments. Guests can expect first class and individual treatment in this family-like Relais & Chateaux member. No other hotel in Berlin has combined tradition and trend quite so successfully.
