Part of the Design Hotel chain, the Bleibtreu ultimately appeals to a younger crowd.
All products used to build the hotel are biodegradable, with furnishings free from chemical treatment and wool carpets pollutant-free. Each floor has also been assigned its own smell – although, as with the Emperor’s new clothes, it’s hard to detect anything.
The interior is tasteful and modern without being uncomfortably hip. Controversial works of art, such as Elvira Bach’s sexually explicit wall tapestry, appeal to an unshockable and more avant-garde crowd.
Mobile phones (communication range within the hotel only) are also provided for customer use, while breakfast in bed can be ordered via the TV remote. A New York deli, espresso bar and flower shop (with 31 different types of rose) can be found on site. A spa with personal trainer service, massage and colour light therapy is also open to guests.
