Review
Subscribing to a minimalist ethos, it's hard to imagine this ultra-modern building in the heart of West Berlin was styled almost 10 years ago. The 170-room hotel was opened in 2003 in a gentle blaze of muted colourings developed by creative consultants Kessler + Kessler – think furnishings from young German designers, including tables from Munich's Lemongras Design Studio. Breakfast can be taken on the 7th floor, with fantastic views of the city, where a remarkable selection of health foods complements those bored with traditional bread and butter. A well-equipped spa soothes guest anxieties with reflexology and shiatsu massages, and even ear acupuncture for those in need. In the evenings, DJs occasionally keep Ku' Damm 101’s young and sophisticated crowd partying into the early hours in the lime green lounge bar.
