One of the best small hotels in Sultanahmet, and indeed Istanbul, the Ibrahim Pasa Hotel is an old, four-storey, late Ottoman house given a thorough, contemporary going over.
Tastefully the management have neither ruined the period feel of the building by trying too hard, nor omitted to add modern features like WiFi throughout the hotel, sleek LCD TVs in every one of its 19 well-decorated rooms and brightly coloured lampshades.
Attractively tiled and patterned floors set the visual tone throughout, highlighted by the odd bit of statuary or large ornamental pot. Very reasonable prices, friendly and helpful staff, good Turkish-style breakfasts and proximity to the in-house pet (a large white Labrador) add to the general ambience, making the Ibrahim Pasa an excellent choice of hotel.
Additionally it’s round the corner from the Blue Mosque and so only minutes away from the Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi.
