Sanderson

London's second Starck/Schrager collaboration has created an entity even more unusual, sexual and eclectic than before. The Sanderson's great value lies in its space, whether it be the courtyard garden, the different bars, the penthouse apartment or the Agua spa. The Sanderson's high design and levels of service has kept the 'A' list coming back year after year.

When the partnership between hotelier Ian ‘Studio 54’ Schrager and design guru Philippe Starck produced The Sanderson in 2000, the media swooned, celebrities rocked up and aesthetes applauded. Inside a grey 1950s office block (a former Sanderson wallpaper factory, hence the name), Starck has created a witty, modern ‘dreamscape’ with floaty drapes and eclectic statement pieces – Cocteau-esque furniture, Louis XIV settees and carved African armchairs, set against a pure white canvas. The Long Bar, a 24m (80ft) glowing onyx rectangle, and its Malaysian restaurant Suka attract bright young things and rich businessmen who mingle with a complicit sense of quid pro quo. A courtyard garden is open to the sky for most of the year while the cloud-like Agua spa is another oasis of calm. Moodily lit mauve corridors lead onto 91 five-star rooms, all without any internal walls –     bathrooms are encased in a clear glass box and levels of privacy controlled with electronically operated white silk drapes. Studio 54 would surely approve.

Hg2 Special Offer
Sanderson is offering Hg2 members staying at the hotel a free room upgrade and a free mini-treatment in their stylish Agua spa. Choose between a mini-massage, express facial, body polish, express manicure or express pedicure.

To receive the free mini-treatment, just show your Hg2 booking confirmation on check-in. The Agua spa is very popular, so to avoid disappointment, you might want to book the treatment ahead of your stay.

Both the room upgrade and free mini-treatment are subject to availability. One mini-treatment is offered per room, per stay.
