At first glance, and in contrast to its sexy sister, Riad Lotus Perle, Riad Lotus Ambre seems to offer a more traditional, Moroccan-themed retreat from the hustle and bustle of the souks and the Medina in general. As traditional as it seems on the surface, however, with its seductive light-coloured alcoves and peaceful courtyard, the place subtly pops and fizzes with a range of mod-cons, especially in the bedrooms.
Stepping into a bedroom is to be transported into a highly swish and thoroughly modern space, where paintings of prominent figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Goethe, Chairman Mao or Marilyn Monroe hang on the walls, Bang & Olufsen systems cater for your audio-visual needs and internet access connects you to the outside world – if, of course, you need it.
Up on the roof terrace a lush hammam and jacuzzi form part of one of the most enjoyable roof-top environments in the city. Style aficionados and homely folk alike won’t fail to find Ambre an impressive choice.
