Review
Settled snugly into the meandering rue Laksour, just next to a small artisan’s workshop, Dar Attajmil is run by laid-back Italian fashionista Lucrezia Mutti. Small and intimate, it offers four rooms in the main riad plus a newly added double room in a private courtyard next door.
Attajmil makes up for its lack of open space with a sense of comfortable homeliness and stylish design. A subtle smell of incense hangs over the frondescent central courtyard, and the nooks and crannies of the maze-like interior have been lovingly and tastefully decorated. The standard rooms are on the poky side but are superbly kitted out with various takes on the Moroccan style and subtle mixes of antique and contemporary furnishings, and the suites are much larger.
In addition, the roof terrace is wonderful, boasting a great sunbathing deck and a cute hammam/spa (open to the public, reservations essential), where massages, skin treatments and face-masks are all available. Lucrezia can organize everything from treks and tadelakt classes to yoga and cooking schools.
