Owned by a British couple and designed partly by Belgian manageress Valerie Golinvaux, Dar Zemora is an impressive villa hotel located in the Palmeraie.
Past the main entrance there is a domed reception area that leads through to a series of eloquent rooms; some have a seasonal theme, such as the breezy summer dining room and the winter lounge with its huge fireplace, and there is also a library (leather-chairs, wifi) and a well-cushioned chill-out area known as the Fan Room, separated from the spacious gardens and fantastic pool by a few strips of gently wafting coloured fabric.
The rest of Zemora is equally enticing. The three en-suite bedrooms are all fantastically decorated in a range of subtle but seductive Moorish themes, plus there’s a honeymoon suite on the roof (Perla, which comes with its own expansive terrace area) and a separate Zahara suite, which has a four-poster bed, hall, sitting room and its own private garden.
All rooms have marble bathrooms, CD players, and access to the pool and lawns. There’s no hammam but it’s only a short taxi ride to the Palais Rhoul, which has one of the best in town.
