A sister hotel to Riad 72, Riad 12 has been set up under the auspices of a new umbrella company called Uovo, which is also about to house yet another property in the Medina called Riad Due (‘two’ in Italian). Although created by the owners of 72, Riad 12 is distinctly different.
It has the same structure, of course, but instead of possessing a strong designer character, this place is light and breezy with a simple but attractive square courtyard, a small pool, whitewashed walls, a notable lack of cluttersome knick-knacks and an overall aura of humble quietude. The names of the rooms – Camellia, Rania and Ines – well reflect the feeling of homely insouciance that is pervasive here. Camillia and Rania are both large (deluxe doubles), and Ines is a smaller single.
