Constructed around an ultra-relaxing courtyard, Riad 72 is small but perfectly formed. The owner, a Milanese photographer named Giovanna, has a great sense of style that puts an Italian twist on traditional Moroccan décor to create a cool, funky and luxurious environment.
The four rooms vary in size dramatically and contain artistically designed beds, but all have gorgeous bathrooms with basins made from barrels and beaten copper, and differently coloured tadelakt walls. The main suite is the largest room and has the bonus of a wonderful built-in sunlight. This makes the room next door seem small, although in actual fact it is a perfectly reasonable size and has an en-suite bathroom to die for (and at half the price of the bigger room, it is well worth the money).
Riad 72 is slightly taller than most, affording great views from the attractively attired roof terrace. There’s a hammam for guests, and the service and ambience are superbly intimate.
