Carla Sozzani’s hotel offshoot of her cult fashion emporium (see Shop and Drink) is the ultimate statement in exclusivity: a 3rooms door key automatically grants access to the cool club, and of course there are only three keys to be had.
Actually it’s more like 3apartments, each with a living room, set on the first floor of Sozzani’s palazzo complex, overlooking a cobbled, leafy courtyard. All are decorated in Corso Como’s signature monochromatic ethno-urban style and packed with iconic 20th-century design pieces.
Everything in these showroom suites is available to buy: Eames chairs, Castiglioni lights, B&O TVs, DVD players and music systems, Porsche kettles, etc. In fact buying is so encouraged, it’s as if staying here were merely an after-hours shopping opportunity. All suites come with weights for closet exercising (which is telling of 3Rooms’ client profile).
Officially a bed-and-breakfast, there’s no common area or night-time reception. But guests of 3rooms can of course indulge in the facilities of the on-site café and restaurant, and in true Ab Fab style be first in line for tomorrow’s fashion.
