Designed by Guido Ciompi (architect of Gucci boutiques and Roberto Cavalli’s house) with much pink, orange and red, there’s very little that’s grey about this super-central five-star design hotel. Its 21 rooms are individually decked out in the last word in fashionable furniture, DVD and CD players (plus the software), wenge wood, and chrome and glass Starck bathrooms.
Guests can use the gym and pool of sister-hotel Hotel de la Ville, but it’s much better to book into one of two of Gray’s rooms with private gyms and concentrate on working it in their own exclusive amenities, namely ‘Il Bar’ and ‘Le Noir’, an all-black restaurant with tables on sliding rails for cosying up with the fashion fraternity, who pack in here during Fashion Week.
The restricted numbers at the Gray are well suited for those needing to keep a low profile, and for going unnoticed on the foyer’s fabulous hot pink Alice-in-Wonderland swing.
