Hotel Saint Thomas D’Aquin is on the beautiful boutique-lined rue du Pré aux Clercs, in an area dominated by antique shops and galleries in the 7th arrondissement, and not far from the boulevard Saint-Germain and Musée d’Orsay. I
t’s a real find, not only because of its location but also because it’s both stylish and incredibly good value for money. The lobby and lounge have tasteful, light grey walls, English armchairs and dark wood coffee tables strewn with newspapers and magazines.
The rooms, each one unique, are simple, with elegantly chequered or striped curtains and headboards, French windows with wooden shutters and ivy-topped flower boxes (but perhaps not good for the cruel summer since there’s no air-conditioning). Aperitifs can be taken at the bar, they serve a delicious continental breakfast, and what’s more, the WiFi’s free.
