Sleazy Pigalle is Paris’ long established red light district - you can just make out the neon lights from the Folie's Pigalle night club from your hotel window. Brothel bars dominate the streets here, but you’re also near the wonderful Pigalle bar La Fourmi and Divan du Monde club. Not far is rue des Martyrs, where you can sample an award-winning croissant from Boulangerie Arnaud Delmontel, and have an English style lunch at Rose Bakery. A little further is Montmartre’s bohemian area, place des Abbesses. The wonderfully gritty Place de Clichy, and its belle-époque pool hall that’s open to 6am, is only 10mins walk away.
