Review
Cerny Slon (‘Black Elephant’) is a small hotel situated behind the Tyn Church, just yards from Old Town Square. There are 16 rooms (35 beds in total), all furnished in a traditional, clean and simple manner.
The townhouse that accommodates the hotel dates back to the 14th century and proudly bears a UNESCO heritage listing. Although it has been comprehensively renovated in the last couple of years, Cerny Slon offers an authentically historic ambience, complemented by the friendliness of the staff and owners.
Suffice to say that nothing happens in too much of a hurry, even though everything is well run. There’s a decent restaurant, café and wine bar on the premises, but the hotel’s main appeal lies in its location within the medieval Ungelt area (built by Charles IV).
Cerny Slon is perfect for those seeking a convenient location, simple, quiet rooms and an affable environment.
