Savoy

The Savoy name has been synonymous with elegant, old-world sophistication in the hotel world for a while, much like the Hotel Bristol. Such reputations need upholding and reinvigorating - Prague's Savoy is no exception, once the cream of the city's hotel scene, it has slipped in recent years behind upstarts from the Mandarin Oriental, Boscolo and Four Seasons groups, and while calmly genteel lacks the noughties attention to detail.

What's Nearby

The Savoy stands at the top of a very long hill which winds up from the Charles Bridge, up the Royal Way and even beyond the castle. Basically, the walk is made for those with thighs and calves of steel, or those who wish to have them by the end of the weekend. In terms of eating and drinking, this is a quiet part of town and what's here is generally geared up towards the tourist market, which normally means an 'authentic' experience. If you're going to stay at the Savoy taxis are a must ot get out and explore the rest of the city.
