U Pava

U Pava has an old fashioned opulence ingrained into its dark wood panelling, painted ceilings, antique furniture and rich, dark textiles. A subdued lighting scheme adds a romantic ambience to proceedings and the clientele reflect this, often slightly older, celebrating a special weekend away. While quietly tucked away its also close to some of the city's restaurants.

U Páva, meaning ‘At the Peacock’, was one of the first hotels to be renovated after the Velvet Revolution, saving the house from destruction and retaining much of its historical character. Located on a quiet street close to Charles Bridge, U Páva now offers 19 rooms and eight suites, scattered amid three buildings.

It’s certainly one of the most romantic hotels in the city, with some of the rooms claiming superior views of the Castle. Plentiful wooden panelling, painted ceilings, rich textiles and ornate period furniture all set the scene, while a fairly stylish restaurant and café provide extra facilities and, in the case of the latter, large leather armchairs to sink into.

One of the most traditional and comfortable hotels in the city, U Páva is ideal for a romantic weekend away, and is particularly cosy – like Prague itself – in the winter months.
