Ungelt

Malá Stupartská 1, Stare Mesto (Old Town), P1

Ungelt

Traditional in the extreme, the Ungelt is essentially a collection of apartments in a building that dates back to the 12th Century. Each apartment contains its own kitchenette and gives residents a self-contained visit to the city. Don't worry about having no breakfast room or hotel restaurant, there are plenty of great little places nearby.

Located close to Old Town Square, this small boutique hotel doubles up as a miniature time capsule. Different parts of the hotel hark back (via various reconstructions) all the way to the 12th century.

Ungelt’s 10 apartments are split into one- and two-bedroom options, and come furnished with a mixture of antique furniture and 1990s Eastern European styles. Each has its own character, as well as its own kitchen and dining facilities, and breakfast is delivered to the room each morning.

For a small hotel, Ungelt doesn’t scrimp on space; the suites are large (some are very suitable for families) and display a real sense of independence from the traditional hotel format. The only drawbacks are the general lack of views (a few rooms at the back look onto a pleasant courtyard, however), and the proximity of the rooms on the east side to a popular bar, which means they can get a little noisy at times.
