Exedra

Piazza della Repubblica 47, Via Veneto and Villa Borghese

Exedra

Harking back to days of the Roman empire's lavish excess, the Exedra is the most bombastic of the Boscolo hotels in Rome. If you can afford the cost of an average annual mortgage for a weekend in one of the luxe suites, there's no where more stylish for your Roman holiday.

Probably Rome’s best example of glam-slam luxury, the Exedra sweeps unapologetically across the entire corner of the Piazza della Repubblica, facing the baths of Diocletian.

The 240 rooms range from (extremely high) standard classic to outrageously glamorous executive suites resembling the type of phenomenal Manhattan apartments you only see on Sex in the City. The Exedra outshone the rest of the cast in its recent celluloid appearance in the film Ocean’s Twelve, but the cinematic references don’t stop there – the ground-floor Tazio champagne bar is named after and inspired by the paparazzo photographer of the same name in La Dolce Vita, while the first floor houses La Frustra restaurant in homage to Fellini’s 1963 film 81/2.

Looking out over the Eternal City is the jaw-droppingly sexy rooftop pool, which hangs over the edge of Piazza della Repubblica and the Fountain of the Naidi. When the sun doesn’t shine the prestigious indoor spa provides plenty of pampering.

The hotel is very close to Termini station and excellently located for the gorgeous Monti district, but getting into town requires a bus or walk down the Via Nazionale traffic promenade.
