A recent revamp from arbiter of style Barbara Ricci has left this gem of a hotel one of the hottest new addresses in Rome. A family business for over 40 years, the Hotel Adriano is certainly worthy of more stellar accolades than it has received.
The 80 rooms are comfortably stylish with eclectic, decorative touches – Barbara’s travels throughout various subcontinents give the rooms and lobby an idiosyncratic and original touch. Pretty botanical drawings and interesting details adorn the bathrooms, and the bar in the lobby resembles a funky souk.
The hotel occupies part of a 16th-century palazzo, nestling in an atmospheric labyrinth of cobbled streets behind the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. An opening party attended by Rome’s glitterati in spring 2006 has cemented its status as one of the sexy new kids on the block. Really, really cool.
