You can feel an air of simple, tranquil luxury as soon as you walk through the door of this four-star hotel on the Via Veneto. Rooms are tastefully decorated in a 1920s ocean-liner style, and the hotel boasts one of the best spas in Rome, with a glorious Art Deco pool.
The hotel has an interesting history, partly due to its location in front of the American Embassy, which drew ambassadors into the Art Deco lounge for meetings during World War II.
Prior to that, the hotel was a key landmark in Rome’s dolce vita days – the piano bar/salon, decorated with frescoes immortalizing the high society of the 1930s, was often frequented for a cocktail or two by Fellini himself.
