Although primarily a business hotel, the Clarion has much to recommend it. The spacious, light-filled public areas and bedrooms are well proportioned and trendily furnished. The bar is busy with an after-work crowd most nights of the week and the fitness centre is luxurious enough for an hour or so of training.

The hotel overlooks a busy motorway, but thanks to the soundproofing this view, seen from the upstairs bar, takes on a certain grandeur. The drawback is the location, on the southern edge of Södermalm. It's perfect for exploring Söder (or swimming at the city's finest pool, which is just steps away), but less convenient for trips around the city centre or to the airport. Still, because it caters mainly to business travellers the hotel's rates at the weekend and on holidays are a steal.
