Review
You'll find at least one Elite hotel in most of the major Swedish cities, from Luleå in the north to Malmö in the south. There are two in Stockholm, but this is the only one to consider (don't confuse it with the Elite Palace, which is located on a dull street at the far end of Vasastan).
As one of the hotels closest to Stureplan, the Elite Plaza is a good choice if you want proximity to the city's nightlife or the main shopping streets. It's housed in a beautiful, ornate building dating from 1884 that would look quite at home in any Parisian arrondissement, though the interior is less ostentatious than the exterior would suggest. The best rooms to get are those right on the corner of the building with a mini-balcony. In the same building you'll find one of Stockholm's best restaurants, Vassa Eggen (see Eat).
