The Park hotels, as a chain, are always regarded as better than most, and that’s certainly the case here. The Scandic adheres in some ways to the brand prototype, but its fantastic location and standard of accommodation put it a cut above the rest.
Two minutes’ walk from Stureplan, the hotel sits on a corner of Karlavägen with every possible bar, restaurant, club and department store practically on its doorstep. Inside, its brasserie is good for breakfast or a mid-morning snack, and the lobby is warm and inviting.
Rooms are comfortable although rather uniform – splash out on a suite if you’re looking for more originality in design. A well-equipped fitness centre houses a good gym and male/female saunas. Good facilities and high levels of comfort are bonuses, but the big feature here is the hotel’s address.
