Review
Skepparholmen’s excellent reputation relies heavily on its blissful spa (see Play section), but the hotel has other attractions. Bedrooms offer spectacular views of the archipelago and the boating activities on the water through floor-to-ceiling windows.
A 1960s-inspired lobby is huge and unexciting but the warm atmosphere and tastefully coloured rooms more than make up for this. It’s most fun in the summer when you can go to and fro by boat between the hotel and Stockholm city centre in just 15 minutes.
The hotel restaurant is agreeable but by venturing out you’ll see more of the countryside and town. However, if you’ve come here more for the joys of a Swedish massage than anything else, you will only need to trip down a few steps to immerse yourself in the luxury of Skepparholmen’s spa.
