Review
This new 102-room hotel close to Stureplan is slated to open in 2008. It’s housed in a 19th-century building with décor that fuses the 18th and 21st centuries: classic rooms are furnished in the traditional Swedish Gustavian style while loft rooms are minimalist with polished concrete floors. There are also tiny, low-price windowless cabins intended for businessmen who just want to arrive late, leave early, and don’t care about a city view.
The location is ideal for nightlife, with Stureplan a moment’s walk away, shopping on Birger Jarlsgatan or eating. Both Pontus! and Vassa Eggen (see Eat) are almost within spitting distance. After a tiring night out residents can get reduced-price entry to Sturebadet, the city’s most exclusive spa. Should you prefer not to go out, you can always just hang out in the hotel’s champagne bar.
