Villa Källhagen is tucked away in an area of rolling parkland just east from the heart of Östermalm and across the water from Djurgården. There's been an inn here since 1810, though the current building dates from 1990. It's a small place, with only 36 rooms, so you should be sure to book well in advance during busy periods. Each room has panoramic views of the park and is charmingly furnished – you'll spot the distinctive Josef Frank fabrics from Svenskt Tenn (see Shop).
If you're happier in peaceful green surroundings than the hubbub of the city, it's a good choice. You won't be disturbed by street noise, yet it's just a short taxi ride to the middle of town. The two restaurants are known for the quality of their food and serve a popular weekend brunch.
