Monte Rosa is one of Europe's least well-known skiing gems, with three lift-linked resorts encompassing some 180-kilometres of pistes and untold acres of off-piste terrain. Each of its three towns - Alagna, Champoluc and Gressoney - are nestled in deep valleys that fan out from the mountainous frontier between Italy and Switzerland. Expect old timber huts sprinkled along the slopes and antique-style lifts for a nostalgic skiing experience.
