Verbier lays claim to the largest ski area in Switzerland, and technically it is. As part of the Four Valleys ski area, it has 104 lifts and 485-kilometres of pistes that stretch from Bruson and Verbier at one end through to Veysonnaz and Thyon at the other. Despite somewhat awkward links, Verbier boasts some of the best life-accessible off-piste in the world - particularly if you like mogul fields and black itinerary runs. Tough and challenging, even seasoned skiers will be put to the test. And rounding things off is a slew of high-end restaurants and bars for those who prefer the party over the powder.
