London in Bloom

London is wonderful at this time of year.  Escape from the general bustle of the city and the insane shoppers in the West End, and head to London's glorious parks.  Hundreds of people descend on Hyde Park, Regent's Park and St. James' Park for boozy picnics that go on into bright, warm evenings.

This is an ideal time to come and experience London at a time in the year where locals avoid the hustle and bustle, to enjoy more peaceful weekends and evenings in its' wonderful parks.

If this appeals to you, head to the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show, where the grounds of the Royal Hospital are transformed into the series of fabulous show gardens, inspirational small gardens and vibrant horticultural displays.  Frantic and fun, the amazing displays are worth a visit whether you are a gardener or not.  Of equal merit is the Hampton Court Flower Show (7-12 July 2009), the relaxed and inspirational counterpart to Chelsea’s cool urban chic.

For information and tickets, visit the RHS website.

For convenience and elegant sophistication, stay at Blakes.  Offering easy access of Hyde Park for sunny afternoons, you will be in a great location to sample some of Chelsea's delights: supper at Knightsbridge's Petrus and cocktails in the Blue Bar - both residents of the chic Berkeley Hotel.
