Adam Ball is undoubtedly living up to the many accolades awarded him, ranging from “Hottest Rising Star” (ES Magazine) to “Bright Young Artist” (Esquire). Yet Ball lets his art do the talking. The excitement surrounding the work of this 29-year-old painter is palpable and is fast establishing him as one to watch in the art world. London’s most respected art collectors are ensuring that these “startlingly beautiful” (Saturday Times Magazine) paintings remain in hot demand. Since the headline-grabbing exhibition of his 32ft high painting in Soho’s Golden Square, Ball has had solo shows around the world. All That Glitters, curated by Manfredi della Gherardesca in London, was the culmination of one year’s work, referencing his early childhood memories and the magic, timelessness, fantasy and ephemeral world of fairytales and story telling.

Art Collecting
Have you ever thought about starting an art collection? I have, but the problem is I simply didn't know where to start until someone recommended Jack Wakefield to me. Jack is an art consultant and journalist who worked, formerly, with the Beadleston Gallery, New York, and Christie's auction house, London. Jack will come and have a chat with you, find out your taste, price range and needs and then go out looking for pieces for you. He charges no fee (he makes his money on commission from the gallery or artist) and when he finds something you might like, he'll email you an image and then bring the work of art to you. His knowledge of the art market means you won't be wasting your money on something pretty but valueless. Contact Jack on +447795416197 or email him on jackwakefield@gmail.com

Stuck for music? Expand your horizons
You've packed your bags, you've bought your plane ticket and rented that villa and are just about to head off into the sun for a week of fun with your friends - damn, what music are you going to take, you know your friends will, at one point, scroll through your iPod only to find a selection of retro-ly uncool Rick Astley and Abba - how are you going to impress them with your musical taste? Try Pandora, a site created by the Music Genome Project (who?) - simply go online, enter the name of an artist you admire, or think you should like, and they will create and play a selection of their songs as well as a list of others who are of a similar genre/sound - this is such a superb tool for expanding your musical horizons. Once you find something you like you can purchase the track/album from either itunes or Amazon.
