Apple's Protection Plans
I'm always breaking things, whether i'm sitting on sunglasses or dropping my mobile phone. This extends to my ipod - I was out jogging the other day and managed to drop and kick it, in a manner Jonny Wilkinson would have been proud of. When i finally got to the poor battered device, needless to say, it wasn't working. So i got on the phone to the nice people at Apple - a pleasant experience in itself, no call centre on the the other side of the world, limited automated answer system - and the next day a man in a UPS van appeared and collected my ipod, which, incidentally, was almost two years old, and drove it away. Two days later the same van reappeared with a spanking brand new ipod for me. Now, that's what I call service!

Flowers to rock your world
Sending flowers is such a joy (and boys, definitely to be encouraged), but the choice is often pretty limited to Interflora carnations and foliage arranged with all the taste and sophistication of Chantelle. Enter Darren Black, of the exuberantly named Uberflowers, whose mission is to create flowers that exude sexiness and charisma. A tall order indeed, but Darren goes out of his way to really understand both the intentions of the giver and the personality of the givee, before creating the perfect bouquet, drawing on his fashion background to incorporate vintage jewellery, ostrich feathers, fish net stockings, jet beads, diamonds and even dusting petals with metallic eye shadows.

South Beach Calling
Morgans Hotel Group - them of the Sanderson, St Martins Lane, Shore Club, Delano, Hudson etc etc fame - have released the perfect antidote to those end of holiday blues - a CD of purposely obscure, yet accessible tracks - ranging from Moby and Bloc Party (OK, not very obscure) to Little Barrie, Rachel Yamagata and Kingdemm (now we're getting there). Relaxed, chilled and reminiscent of a fabulously wanton weekend all you need do is kick back, mix yourself a Martini and slip the CD into the stereo and imagine you're back on South Beach.

The Best Chocolates in the World
Now Valentine's Day has safely passed us by we can once again buy chocolates again without any fear of being singled out as a 'Hallmark Holiday Sheep'. Like most of us I love chocolate, well except those with strawberry, orange or any other fruity centres, why would you mix perfectly good chocolate with some disgustingly sickly sweet chemical concoction. It was beyond me until I came across L'Artisan du Chocolat in Lower Sloane Street, SW3. These are simply amazing - from Moroccan mint, Lapsang Souchong, Red Wine and Tobacco to the finest chocolate from a single plantation in New Guinea or Venezuela. They are subtle, pure and exciting and perfect for impressing any hostess, potential lover or just huddling under your duvet with a bottle or red wine and a DVD.
