MacBook Pro

Apple's new laptop is four times faster than the not-so-old Powerbook series - with a 15.4-inch widescreen display, a 120GB hard drive, firewire port, intel processor and built in airport this is the Apple's best yet. It even protects your data by detecting fast changes in orientation - a fall in otherwords - and stopping the harddrive before impact. For those of us who love our macs and can't bear to parted from them (yes, sad I know) this is defintiely something we're going to love for the next two years. And it's pretty too.

Party Perfect Nails

Get your nails in perfect shape for a weekend break (or take on Christmas) with a Bio Sculpture manicure and pedicure. Coloured or clear gel is used instead of varnish and it leaves nails impervious to anything you may throw at them (or indeed with them), strengthened and looking fantastic. Slight drawbacks are that it takes longer than a regular mani/pedi (although when you leave your nails are rock solid which banishes the spectre of smudging it on the way home) and it is more expensive but on the plus side it lasts and lasts and lasts and let's face it, what price beauty?! Londoners should visit the lovely Demi at Paul Edmonds (166 Brompton Road, tel: 020 7589 5958) or visit the Bio Sculpture website to find the nearest salon.

Wonderful Mail Order Catalogue

It's getting to that time of year again - Christmas is approaching and we're all beginning to make mental lists of what to buy Little Timmy or Aunty Mabel. Usually i tend to do my shopping in a mad, and expensive, dash at Harvey Nicks on Christmas Eve. This year i've come across Whippet Grey - a rather funky and exclusive take on the mail order catalogue. Packed with everything from babouches (suede Moroccan slippers) and handmade shell bracelets to beautifully crafted wooden toys, hopefully it will make this Christmas a less frenetic affair.

Share the joy

The Altec Lansing inMotion iM3 portable audio system is an essential travelling companion. Techno-babble is below, but (for girls reading this) salient points are it looks great, sounds great, doesn't usurp much more than a pair of shoes in your luggage and has a remote control.
This paper-back-sized, ultra-portable, battery-operated stereo system is the perfect companion for your iPod. A highly efficient Class D amplifier powers four full-range micro drivers to deliver a full spectrum of pure, distinct sound, while the revolutionary MaxxBass technology allows listeners to enjoy deep bass without lugging around a subwoofer. Best of all, connectivity is as easy as placing your iPod or iPod mini into the built-in dock or connecting it through the auxiliary port.
