Gunpowder Magazine
No, not an homage to Guy Fawkes' Gunpowder plot, but a stylish new online lifestyle magazine. Covering an interesting mix of cultural, fashion, design and travel stories, the tone is witty, quirky and irreverent. Bite-sized reviews are perfect for a quick break at work, and there's sure to be something that you might fancy doing, buying or just reading about.

Sheer genius!
I'm somthing of a luddite when it comes to Youtube (and don't even get me on to Facebook) but every now and then an absolute gem pops up on it. This is a prime example - someone with enough time and creativity on their hands to turn some Eddie Izzard sketches into lego cartoons. Death Star Canteen has to be the best, but the others are all pretty amusing. Turn the volume up and enjoy!

Monocle
A stylish addition to the magazine community, Monocle offers insightful briefings on current affairs, business, design and culture. Helmed by Tyler Brulé and harnessing the combined talents of well known journalists across the world , it tackles a host of interesting, if sometimes leftfield subjects. Published 10 times a year but updated online, augmented by a series of concise video clips, it provide a bite sized entree into a host of unusual topics - from travel in Turkmenistan to Bankok radio via more mainstream arts and culture. You'll never be stuck for dinner party conversation again!

Love Travel guides
To say We Love Love Travel guides sounds like bad syntax at best, but bear with me. Until Hg2's rather megalomaniacal quest for global domination is complete we are always happy to recommend like-minded publishers producing stylish, well-researched guides. So we are delighted to introduce the wonderful Love Travel guides. Designed for the discerning traveller who wants an in to the heart of the city, the Love guides to Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore capture the heart and soul of these chaotic cities. An added bonus is the stunning design - completely handmade in India, hot pink, red and peacock blue silk-covered books look like delectable gems.

Mr Jones' Rules
If you liked Hg2 Life, then Mr Jones' Rules should be next on your reading list. A slightly more practical 'how-to' for the gentlemen amongst us, the worldwise editor of GQ, Dylan Jones, helps steer you through the tricky business of modern etiquette. From the practical (how to jump start a car) to the sartorial (how to tie a windsor knot) and the essential (how to buy lingerie), this is a great little read - perfect for bedside tables and loos worldwide.
